Black Belt

Saturday, April 24th, 2010

I’ve been quiet here for a few weeks because I’ve been saving post #250 for something special.

At long last, I’ve been awarded my Black Sash in Kung Fu. I completed the test earlier this month, and then my teacher ordered the sash from Singapore. The test itself took about a month to complete.

I set out to accomplish this last September, as stated here. My knees are in relatively good shape, and I thank them for seeing me through this. I’m talking with my Shi-Fu about what’s next in my studies. There’s more Kung Fu ahead and  definitely some Tai Chi.   ‘Nuff said.

A Giveaway

To help me celebrate, Thriv has generously given me a t-shirt to give away to one reader. I’ve been wearing one under my jacket at Kung Fu for about a month now – they are made out of the viscose from Bamboo and cotton. Bamboo has healing qualities, and what’s  remarkable, these shirts really don’t smell. As they state on their site:  “our shirts deliver 5 benefits: wicking, comfort, SPF, anti-odor, and breathability.”

I love this shirt.

The men’s shirt is here: http://www.thrivnp.com/men/37 and the ladies’ shirt is here: http://www.thrivnp.com/women/47

Just leave me a comment below, and I’ll randomly pick a winner the first week of May. Thriv will send you the shirt directly. Please, enter – these shirts are awesome.

Thank you – good luck!
